Submitting Khan Academy Training

Financial Literacy

Khan Academy offers a host of courses you can take for professional development hours, including the Human Resources (HR) recommended Financial Literacy course. You must successfully reach a 100% mastery level on the Financial Literacy course before 12/20/24 to be eligible to receive the one-time reward. 

Read through the tabs to discover how to sign up and take the course, and then submit the external training to StarU Online for credit.

Khan Academy: Signing Up and Taking the Course

Follow the instructions below to sign up for the Khan Academy and take your Financial Literacy course.

  1. Navigate to Khan Academy.
  2. If you do not have an account, click Sign up.
    1. If you already have a Khan Academy account, click Log in to be directed to your Learner Home
    2. Click Add another course and skip to step 6.
  3. On the Sign up screen, do the following
    1. Leave Learner selected.
    2. Enter your date of birth.
    3. Select Sign up with Email.

       
  4. Read and navigate through the 4 introductory pop-ups.
    • Note: The introductory pop-ups may occur at other times during the sign up process.

       
  5. On Step 1 of the Personalize Khan Academy pop-up, select Adult Learner and click Continue.

     
  6. On Step 2, scroll down to the Life skills section and select Financial Literacy
    • Note: You may optionally select additional courses of interest for your own personal development.

       
  7. Click Continue with 1 course.
  8. To begin your training, click Start beside Welcome to Financial Literacy.

     
  9. Navigate through each lesson and unit, completing each quiz and test until you receive Mastered on each skill, with Course mastery at 100%.
    1. To see the Course Mastery level, navigate to your Learner Home screen.
    2. Click See All next to the course title.

       
  10. Once you've received 100% course mastery, take a screenshot of the entire Course screen, ensuring both your Khan Academy screen name and course mastery are captured. 
  11. Save this screenshot to an easily-accessible location on your computer.
  12. When you are ready to submit your external training, move on to the steps in the next tab.
 
 

StarU Online: Submitting for Credit

Use the following steps to submit your certification for completing the Khan Academy: Financial Literacy.

  1. Navigate to StarU Online.
  2. Click on Submit External Training.

     
  3. Fill out the following fields exactly as shown below or you'll risk not receiving appropriate credit:
    1. Title: Financial Literacy
    2. Institution: Khan Academy
    3. Training Dates: The dates you began and finished the course
    4. Training Hours: 2 hours
  4. Add the screenshot to the Attachments section.
  5. Click Submit.
  6. On your transcript, find the Financial Literacy external training and click Mark Complete.
  7. HR will receive a report of Financial Literacy completions once a week. Associates will find the one-time $100 incentive on their second paycheck of the following month.
