To distribute funds from a Coverdell Education Savings account, do the following:
- In Xperience > SilverLake > StreamLine Platform Menu > Recall Existing Account from Core. The Inquiry/Website Selection page displays.
- Click OK.
- On the StreamLine Account Recall Selection page, from the Application drop-down menu choose T - Time Deposit.
- In the Account Number field enter the CESA account number. The Branch field fills in.
- In the Platform Type field, click the ellipsis
and choose *MD MISCELLANEOUS CD DOCUMENTS. - Click OK on each screen until you reach the MISCELLANEOUS CESA IRA FORMS screen.
- In the CESA Distribution Form field type Y.
- Complete the Coverdell Education Savings Account (CESA) Distribution form by selecting one of the following as the appropriate reason:
- Qualified distribution – funds used for education expenses
- Non-qualified distribution
- Disability – The designated beneficiary is totally and permanently disabled
- Death – Pay to designated beneficiary’s estate or the beneficiary (if applicable)
- Prohibited transaction
- Transfer – transfer to a new designated beneficiary or to another financial institution
- Disability
- Correction of the excess contribution
- If the distribution will result in a zero balance and the account will then be closed, see Closing IRA for more information.
- If the distribution is a partial withdrawal and funds will remain in the account and the account open, see CD Partial Withdrawal procedures.
- Place the signed CESA Distribution form not submitted through eSign with the daily work for imaging.
- Provide the second copy of the CESA Distribution form to the client for his/her records.
