Capital City Bank will send foreign currency out for collection at the request of a client. The bank DOES NOT accept FOREIGN COIN for collection. Capital City Bank does not buy foreign currency.
If a client requests a quote for an exchange rate, contact Call Me Direct (x397100).
If a client wants to sell foreign currency, do the following:
- Inform the client that the exchange rate quoted is only an estimate. FNBB uses the exchange rate at the time they process the transaction to convert the money, not the day the client comes into the office to have it sent for collection.
- Complete the Foreign Currency Sell Form. The form must be typed and not handwritten.
- Record the following information on the form:
- Date
- Office name and office number
- Associate name and phone number/extension
- Client name and account number
- Client daytime phone number
- Foreign currency type and country
- Foreign currency amount
- Foreign currency denomination breakdown
- Provide a copy of the Foreign Currency Sell form to the client.
- Scan the Foreign Currency Sell form and ALL the currency (front and back). Sent the scanned information to _Foreign Currency for processing.
- Deposit Services processes the shipment.
- Once the shipment is submitted, the mailing label and receipt are emailed to the office associate for them to ship the currency directly to FNBB.
- Place the currency and receipt in a FedEx envelope.
- Ensure you have sufficient FedEx supplies on hand to ship out the day you receive the mailing label.
- Order additional supplies from FedEx.
- Seal the envelope and affix the mailing/shipping label.
- ONLY ship the currency to FNBB. DO NOT send the Foreign Currency Sell form signed by the client.
Note: If a client is selling multiple currencies, each one requires a separate Foreign Currency Sell form. Fees apply to each sell transaction; however, multiple orders can be shipped together for one shipping fee.
Note: It may not be cost effective for the client to send foreign currency for collections after reviewing the fees associated with outgoing collection. Capital City Bank charges a Foreign Currency Exchange fee for foreign currency sells. Refer to CCB Other Services & Fees brochure. ADDITIONAL FEES (Charged by intermediary bank): Order Fee: $10.00; Shipping Fee: $12.50.
