Notice to Borrower in a Special Flood Hazard Area

The Notice to Borrower in a Special Flood Hazard Area is required by the Flood Disaster Protection Act and advises the borrower if the property to be taken as collateral is in a Special Flood Hazard Area.

The Notice is generated when the flood determination is pulled and the property is identified as being within a Special Flood Hazard Area. 

 

The Notice is provided to the client if the loan is:

  • Secured by real estate with a structure
  • Secured by a mobile home, even if real estate not taken
  • Located in a Special Flood Hazard Area (Section D of the Determination)

If the client disputes the determination: Go through the vendor's dispute resolution process.
