New Hire Evaluations

You have several opportunities to evaluate new associates -- at 30, 60, 80, and 90 days of service. The 30, 60, and 80-day reviews measure associate effectiveness in a new role. The 90-day evaluation allows both the manager and the associate to give open-ended narrative responses.

The 30, 60, and 80-day reviews are strongly recommended. Keep the completed reviews as a reference when completing the next.

The 90-day review is a mandatory part of the associate's personnel file.

Document all performance issues and contact your HRC for guidance. Work with your upline manager to develop action plans and narrative statements.

To perform a new hire evaluation, do the following:

  1. The Recognition & Hiring Coordinator emails you the evaluation form 1 week before each evaluation.
  2. Complete the form.
    1. Do one of the following:
      1. Check the box to indicate meets expectations
      2. Leave blank to indicate below expectations
    2. Provide narrative comments describing how the associate is meeting expectations, and what milestones he/she has achieved. List the next steps/goals.
  3. Schedule time to discuss the contents of the review with the associate.
  4. In the discussion, provide key points of feedback with examples that illustrate the impact of the associate’s performance.
  5. Sign the form and have the associate acknowledge with their signature.
  6. Email the completed 90-day evaluation to the Recognition & Hiring Coordinator.
