Power of Attorney Signature Requirements

A Power of Attorney (POA) is a legal document giving one or more than one person (the agent or attorney-in-fact) the authority to act for another person (the principal). Click on the tabs for more information on POA Signature Card and endorsement requirements.

ALL legal documents for POA accounts MUST be reviewed by Call Me Direct (CMD) for approval before proceeding with opening or revising an account. 


Signature Card 

If the agent requests control of the principal’s bank account, do the following:

  1. Verify the agent's identity by using one of the following:
  2. Execute a new Signature Card indicating the agent's authority to sign on the account pursuant to the POA.
  3. The account remains titled in the principal’s name and social security number. The agent does not own the account, but only has the power to exercise authority over the account.
  4. Title the account as follows:
    • Marion Lee
           Mark Smith, POA
