Overview
The Auto Finance department maintains relationships with more than 150 auto dealers in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama and finances 4,000–5,000 automobile loans each year. This department utilizes a risk-based pricing strategy that can often offer better rates and longer terms for clients. Auto Finance falls under Speciality Lending within the Core Market Lending division under Revenue.
Our Auto Finance department has relationships with numerous car dealerships to finance automobiles for consumer clients and works closely with Corporate Banking to provide financial services to these dealerships. We have Auto Finance bankers located in Brooksville and Tallahassee, which allows for local approval.
Car dealerships typically work with multiple banks, credit unions, and finance companies. When a consumer goes into a car dealership and selects a car to purchase, the dealer’s Finance Manager sends the application (the client’s financial information) and the vehicle purchase information to several financial institutions.
These institutions quickly underwrite the loan and either send the approval/counter with rate and terms or the denial back to the dealership. Next, the dealer presents the available loan terms to the client then closes the loan. Auto Finance associates work later than banking hours Monday – Friday, weekends, and most bank holidays to ensure a quick approval process.

Making Referrals
If you have a client who is in the market for a new automobile, our Auto Finance department can often give them the best deal.
Just ask the client to tell their salesperson at the dealership that they want to finance their auto purchase through Capital City Bank, and the dealer will send it to our underwriters. The Auto Finance department reconciles actual sales with referrals on a bi-monthly basis, so be sure to enter your referral into Synapsys.
The most important thing to remember about making referrals to the Commercial Banking Division is to get the client or prospect to the right department the first time. The more times a future client is passed around, the more likely we are to lose them to the competition. Know your departments and refer, refer, refer.
