Product Analysis & Management

Overview

The Product Analysis & Management department stays on top of the competitiveness and relevancy of the Bank’s retail products and remains closely in-tune to the changing industry. This ensures that the Bank can develop and enhance our product offerings to make them better suited for our clients’ needs, keep pace with industry trends, and remain competitive with direct competitor offerings.

More specifically, their all-encompassing work with the Bank’s retail offerings can be summarized as follows:

  • Develop and maintain products and services that generate revenue for the bank;
  • Promote product awareness to increase associate focus on resolving client needs with the correct solution; and
  • Track, report, and recognize product and service production generated by Retail associates.

This department’s work extends far beyond this list, however. They work with several of the Bank's departments, but primarily Retail Office Delivery. They provide retail associates with the resources, training opportunities, and tools necessary for understanding how to identify a need and know what solutions the Bank has for our clients.

Product Analysis & Management communicates with upcoming Capital City Bank retirees on what banking services they can continue to benefit from for free or at a discounted rate.

Product Analysis & Management also provides retail teams with product sales tracking and associate recognition.

This department’s philosophy is be a "product of the product”—there is no greater way to identify a need and help someone else understand the benefits of the solution being offering. By being a “product of the product,” associates can speak from experience, informed with a complete understanding of the solution’s features and benefits.

Here are some additional responsibilities managed by Product Analysis & Management:

Vendors

Product Analysis & Management oversees the numerous vendors we use and is responsible for portfolio management for various retail products. They also complete annual vendor assessments on each vendor designated as high risk to ensure the vendor’s strength and security are still acceptable and safe to continue doing business with.

Associate Account Waiver

Product Analysis & Management receives all associate account waivers. When an associate account is opened, the opening associate codes it as an “employee” account and e-mails Product Analysis & Management to place the associate waiver on the account.

This two-step process is sometimes overlooked. If the associate opening the account overlooks that second step—e-mailing Product Analysis & Management to put an associate waiver on the account—the client will incur service charges they should be exempted from.

Client Account Service Charge Waiver Requests

Product Analysis & Management receives all client account service charge waiver requests for consideration. Once received, they seek approval from the Market President or Executive Officer of the area requesting the waiver.

Product and Service Oversite

Product Analysis & Management has direct oversite for the following products and services:

Elan Credit Cards

Elan is a third-party provider we use to make both consumer and business Visa credit cards available to our clients. Elan also provides a purchasing card for more complex businesses known as Elan’s OneCard

Elavon Merchant Services

Elavon is a third-party provider we use to make merchant services available to our business clients. Merchant Services are authorized financial services that allow a business to accept credit or debit card transactions using online and point-of-sales systems. Elavon also provides the Cash Advance services we use in our retail offices.

Deposit Portfolio Management

Deposit growth is important to Capital City Bank: there is a direct correlation in non-interest income growth and the number of deposit accounts we have in our portfolio. EconoCheck has helped to enhance our consumer deposit offerings by providing value-add services like Identity Theft Protection and Monitoring, Cell Phone Protection, and shopping rewards that are bundled into our Carefree Checking account

In addition, to enhance our marketing of deposit account and generate new growth, we engage with Amsive to drive an annual consumer account acquisition strategy for us. Amsive identifies prospects who look like a good fit for Capital City Bank. Then, they market to these prospects through direct mail and/or digitally, providing a bonus offer for banking with Capital City Bank. To increase the Bank’s growth by word of mouth, we partner with ReferLive, making the Referral Rewards program available to our loyal clients. Clients can potentially earn up to $500 per year by referring their friends and family to Capital City Bank.

Debit Card Portfolio Management

The Capital City Bank Visa® Debit Card provides clients a safe, easy way to pay for anything, no matter how small. And no matter what they buy or how they prefer to pay—in person with card, online, or with mobile pay. Clients can use their debit card instead of cash allowing them to skip the ATM and save time.
