Submitting ID Exceptions for Elderly or Disabled Clients

Elderly or disabled clients may not possess all the forms of ID required to open a new consumer account. You can apply for an exception to these requirements, if the client has one of these three items:

  • Social Security card
  • Medicare/Medicaid card
  • Documentation listing the client's name and address

Submit an exception by following these steps:

  1. Email _BSA Department using the subject line Elderly/Disabled Exception Request.
  2. Provide the following information in the email:
    • Account title
    • Specify if elderly or disabled
    • Type of ID provided
    • Basic CIP information
  3. Send the email.

If you receive an email granting the exception, then enter the exceptions in the client's CIF by doing the following:

  1. Use the following codes in the client's CIF:
    • MC – Medicare/Medicaid Card
    • OI - Other Identification
  2. In the Identification Number field, enter N/A.
  3. In the Place of Issuance field, enter No expiration date.
  4. Image a copy of the approval email to the account.

Now the client can access his or her accounts by providing the document specified.
