Success Through Associate Referrals
(STAR Program)
In the interest of attracting quality associates, Capital City Bank (CCB) pays referral bonuses. Referrals that result in a hire mean a cash bonus for the referring associate.
Policy
Referral bonuses up to $900.00 may be awarded to associates after the new associate has completed a defined period of continuous, satisfactory employment (90 days). If a new associate’s new hire period is extended, the referral fee is available upon the end of the extended period. The referred candidate is subject to normal hiring procedures.
Bonuses may be awarded in the following manner:
- $400.00 for any non-exempt position
- $600.00 for any exempt level position
- $900.00 for any IT or Network Operations position
For referrals made to Capital City Home Loans (CCHL), the associate may receive a referral bonus according to the new hire position:
- Mortgage Consultant (MC) – referring associates receive a $500 bonus after the MC funds three loans
- Operations Associate – referring associates receive a $500 bonus once the new hire has worked for 90 days
How the Associate Referral Program Works
The referral bonus is paid to the referring associate on the payday after the new associate successfully completes the new hire period (90 days). The cut-off date for referral bonuses is the 15th of each month. Bonuses for associates hired after the processing date are paid the following month.
- The referral bonus will be credited to the associate that is listed on the application for the position in which the candidate is hired.
- The candidate must include the referring associate’s name on the application, where indicated.
- Referral bonuses are paid for referring an applicant for both full-time and part-time positions. Referrals for any open position will be considered.
- All associates are eligible for referral fees, with the exception of a hiring manager who refers someone who will report directly to him or her.
- Associates are notified when an application has been received and if the applicant is hired. No communication regarding interviews is relayed.
- To receive the referral payout, the referring associate must be employed at the time the new hire referred completes their new hire period.
Candidate Eligibility
- The candidate must have the experience and qualifications for the position.
- Referrals undergo the same scrutiny and the same interviewing process as any other candidate.
Candidates that are not eligible for referral bonuses under this program are:
- Current associates (internal applications)
- Individuals currently employed with the bank through a staffing/temporary agency
- Candidates employed by Capital City Bank within the 12 months prior to the date of referral, also known as a boomerang associate.
Administration
- HR administers the STAR program and tracks all referrals.
- Referral bonuses are subject to applicable tax withholdings, and any tax consequences are the full responsibility of the referrer.
