Note: Do not mail copies of the service event and supporting documentation to Deposit Services.
- Accept the notification of the client’s death only from a reputable source such as the joint account owner, a known relative of the client, or an associate from the funeral home handling the services. (After receiving phone notification, verify with a death certificate).
- Create the Synapsys service event DS – Deceased Client.
- Scan and attach the following items to the service event:
- Certified copy of the death certificate
- All other supporting documents received
- Send the service event to Deposit Services.
- Deposit Services associates complete maintenance to the decedent’s CIF record and any other required account maintenance.
The following arrangements end immediately upon the death of the client:
- Power-of-attorney
- Convenience signers
- Guardianship
Individuals in these roles or with these powers lose all access and control over the account when the client dies.
