The age of majority is the age when children become adults by law. Each state determines its own age of majority. When a person achieves the age of majority, that individual is legally responsible for his or her own actions and decisions; the individual's parents are no longer responsible for them.
Individual owners of accounts and convenience signers (if used) must meet the age requirements listed on the following tabs.
Florida
The age of majority in the state of Florida is 18 years of age or older, but it is 16 if legal marriage occurs upon or emancipation petition.
Georgia
The age of majority in the state of Georgia is 18 years of age or older.
Alabama
The age of majority in the state of Alabama is 19 years of age, but it is 18 years of age for married persons, widows, or widowers.
REMINDER: When a minor reaches the age of majority and requests an update to the signature card or the opening of a new account, CIP requirements apply.
