Elderly or disabled clients may not possess all the forms of ID required to open a new consumer account. You can apply for an exception to these requirements, if the client has one of these three items:
- Social Security card
- Medicare/Medicaid card
- Documentation listing the client's name and address
Submit an exception by following these steps:
- Email _BSA Department using the subject line Elderly/Disabled Exception Request.
- Provide the following information in the email:
- Account title
- Specify if elderly or disabled
- Type of ID provided
- Basic CIP information
- Send the email.
If you receive an email granting the exception, then enter the exceptions in the client's CIF by doing the following:
- Use the following codes in the client's CIF:
- MC – Medicare/Medicaid Card
- OI - Other Identification
- In the Identification Number field, enter N/A.
- In the Place of Issuance field, enter No expiration date.
- Image a copy of the approval email to the account.
Now the client can access his or her accounts by providing the document specified.
