For onboarding and team building


Icebreakers are a great way to build relationships between team members and can liven up any group setting. They are a simple and fun way to begin helping people bond. It’s important to use icebreaker activities that are easy to learn, non-threatening and fun. Since bonding is the goal, they should have an element of bonding

Notes
Most Unique (5 minutes)
Ask each person to share something that makes them unique.
Examples: Never left the state I was born in or I am 1 of 10 kids.
Up to 10 people
Give examples of unique or unusual facts and be willing to answer first.
Heros (5 minutes)
Ask each person to name 3 people past or present, that they admire and to share why. 
Up to 10 people
People will have interesting answers. Give your group space to open up and respond to each other's responses. 
Line up (5 minutes) The group will get into a determined order without speaking to one another. Ask the groups to line up in order of their birthdays, starting with the earliest one in the year.  Up to 15 people
Best/Worst (10 minutes)
Ask each person to share their best and worst moments from the previous week. 
Great for size any group
The better people know each other, the more honest the responses.
Q&A Time (Up to 15 minutes)
Pick 3 get-to-know-you questions. Ask the first question and allow for responses from the group before asking the next. 
Examples
What do you do for fun? 
What would be your ideal vacation?
If you knew you could not fail and money were no object, what would you do with the next 5 years. 
What was the last artist you searched for, however you get your music?
Up to 15 people
Give your group space to open up to one another and comment on each other's responses.
Starburst Exchange (15-20 minutes)
By a few bags of starburst (or some other colored wrapped candy). Give each person the same number (try 5). Start by stating something that you've never done that you think everyone else has, like "I've never had a birthday party." Everyone who has done what you've stated gives you 1 candy. You pay anyone that hasn't 1 candy. Go around the group until someone runs out of candy.  Up to 10 people
The winner ends with the most candy. You can shorten the game by ending after a set number of rounds.
