Dispositioning, or declining, candidates in Star Access (UKG) should be completed throughout the hiring process. It is imperative that each applicant is viewed individually when dispositioning. Timely review of each applicant creates a better hiring experience for candidates and increases our chances of a successful hire. Properly and timely dispositioning of candidates also helps to ensure that CCB meets regulatory hiring goals and requirements. Failing to properly review and decision candidates in a timely fashion negatively impact the Bank’s hiring metrics. Additionally, to an outside auditor, large pools of pending candidates can create the perception of unfair hiring practices.
To disposition a candidate in Star Access (UKG), do the following:
- Log in to Star Access (UKG).
- Click Recruiting > Recruiting Gateway.
- Under Opportunities, click Published.
- Locate your open position and click on the candidate number.
- Click the check box next to the candidate to disposition.
- Click Disposition.
- Use the Choose recruiting step drop-down menu, choose Decline.
- Use the drop-down menu to Choose a reason for the move.
- Examples include:
- Resume required - Candidate did not upload a resume
- Salary requirements to high - Candidate is asking for salary outside of the range for the position
- Unable to attend training in Tallahassee - Candidate indicated that they could not attend retail training in Tallahassee
- No Show/Late for interview - Candidate did not show for the interview
- Examples include:

DO NOT blanket all candidates to one choice.
- It is very important to choose the best option that fits why each candidate was not selected, this will be much easier if you disposition throughout the hiring process while it is fresh in your mind.
- Select No for the question ‘A Decline email has not been set up by your administrator. Would you like to send one?’.
- Click Save.
