If notification is received regarding the termination of a Power of Attorney (POA) on file with Capital City Bank, contact Call Me Direct (CMD) at Ext. 397100 immediately.
When revoking a POA, we must receive a letter containing the date the POA was originally signed, the effective date of the revocation and must contain the Agents name and be notarized.

Alabama
Alabama Statutes 26-1A-110
A power of attorney terminates when any of the following occur:
- The principal dies.
- The principal revokes the power of attorney.
- The power of attorney provides that it terminates.
- The purpose of the power of attorney is accomplished.
- The principal revokes the agent's authority.
- The agent dies, becomes incapacitated or resigns; and the power of attorney does not provide for another agent or act under the power of attorney.
- The power of attorney is revoked by a fiduciary appointed by a court.
Florida
Florida Statutes 709.2109
A power of attorney terminates when any of the following occur:
- The principal dies.
- (Durable) The principal becomes incapacitated.
- The principal is adjudicated totally or partially incapacitated by a court, unless the court determines that certain authority granted by the power of attorney is to be exercisable by the agent.
- The principal revokes the power of attorney.
- The power of attorney provides that it terminates.
- The purpose of the power of attorney is accomplished.
- The agent's authority terminates and the power of attorney does not provide for another agent to act under the power of attorney.
Georgia
Georgia Code 10-6B-10
A power of attorney terminates when any of the following occur:
- The principal dies.
- The principal becomes incapacitated, if the power of attorney specifically provides that it is not durable.
- The principal revokes the power of attorney, provided that the principal provides the agent with notice of such revocation by certified mail and provided that such notice is filed with the clerk of superior court in the county of domicile of the principal.
- The agent resigns, becomes incapacitated, or dies.
- The power of attorney provides that it terminates.
- The purpose of the power of attorney is accomplished.
