Internal Control is an internal audit department that evaluates the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of all policy and procedures and has full discretion to issue findings and recommendations related to their evaluations.
To put it differently, Internal Control is responsible for testing the Bank’s office by focusing on a period of time—usually a month, though sometimes longer—for adherence to the policies and procedures implemented by Capital City Bank. They report any findings to retail management, and, when appropriate, to the Audit Committee for risk-rating purposes that ensure the safety and soundness of each retail office location.
Internal Control Specialists (ICS) maintain a complete knowledge and understanding of all Teller and Personal Banking policies and procedures. As part of their duties, Internal Control Specialists visit every office in their assigned region as prescribed by the Internal Control Manager.
Periodic record reviews are completed using the Office Record Review (ORR) form in all areas of teller operations, which include, but are not limited to:
- Dual Control
- Cash

- Night Depository
- Official Checks
- Safe Deposit Box
- Security
- Compliance Signage
