Navigating Transcripts

Each associate has a learner transcript in StarU Online. It's a quick way to view the status of training items that you've registered for and the compliance courses that are assigned to you.


To view your transcript, do the following:

  1. Log in to StarU Online.
  2. On the Welcome page, click the My Transcripts button.
  3. Your active transcript opens, displaying incomplete training items sorted by due date.
    Note: All compliance courses and required trainings have due dates. Professional development or other optional trainings such as those for which self-registered do not.

Click a tab for information about other functions within the transcript.

View or Resume Training

Some courses, like FLOD - First Line of Defense are assigned as standalone items. These can be opened directly from the transcript by clicking the Launch button.

Others are packaged together with similar courses inside curricula. To view these, click the Open Curriculum button.

Sometimes curricula are split further, such as when dealing with different regulations. Navigate these sections by clicking the name in either the curriculum player or in the table of contents.

View Completed Training

Previously completed training can be launched again to go through as a refresher. To view training items that you have already completed:

  1. Click the drop-down menu under Filter by Training Status.
  2. Select Completed.

View Archived Training

Sometimes training is moved to the archived transcript. Training that has been inactivated in the system and instructor-led training in the following statuses are automatically moved there after a few days: Cancelled, Withdrawn, Waitlist Expired, No Show. To view training items that have been archived:

  1. Click the drop-down menu under Filter by Training Status.
  2. Select Archived.

Add External Training

In addition to the method covered in the Entering External Training article, training completed outside StarU Online can also be added to your transcript directly from the transcript itself.

  1. Click the ellipses.
  2. Click Add External Training.
  3. Fill out the Title and Training Hours. Information can be added to other fields as well, if desired.
  4. Click Submit.

Run a Transcript Report

The system can generate a report comprised of all your training items, past and present.

Note: For a report that displays your professional development hours for the current year, see Viewing Professional Development Hours in Detail.

  1. Click the ellipses.
  2. Click Run Transcript Report.
  3. Adjust the fields in the Training and Date sections to narrow the report criteria.
    Note: This can possibly exclude desired training items. Leaving the fields as-is ensures all training items are shown on the report.
  4. In the Advanced section, select the checkboxes as desired.
    • Check Include Associated Training to show all individual training items within a curriculum.
    • Check Include Training Detail Information to have the report include other useful information such as training hours.
  5. When all fields and filters have been updated as desired, click Run Report.
    • Note: When opening the downloaded report, an error message displays regarding the file format and extension. 
    • Click Yes to open the report.

View the Transcripts of Your Team

StarU Online allows managers to directly view the transcripts of their team, granting the ability to verify due dates or completed training items. Managers can also assign training to members of their team directly from that individual’s transcript. See this article for more information.

  1. Click View Team beside ellipses button.
  2. A sidebar window will open. Click the name of the associate whose transcript you wish to view.

  3. Many of the other transcript navigation features in this article can also be applied when viewing the transcripts of your team members.

Other Features

Below are some additional features you may find useful when navigating your StarU Online transcripts.

Change sorting method

Each transcript type has a default sorting method applied:

  • Active transcript is sorted by due date
  • Completed transcript is sorted by completed date
  • Archived transcript is sorted by archived date

To temporarily change the sorting method:

  1. Click the drop-down menu under Sort by.
  2. Select the desired sorting method.

Save Transcript

To print a list of all training items shown on the transcript you’re currently viewing (Active, Completed, or Archived):

  1. Click the ellipses button.
  2. Click Export to PDF to download the file.
  3. For a more printer-friendly version, click Print Transcript instead. Then click Print on the following page.
