Overview
Capital City Bank (CCB) employs safeguards to protect clients personal information at all times. Egress is a software package added to Microsoft Outlook that helps ensure secure delivery and viewing of email and attachments. Egress also protects against email data loss and reduces the chance of incorrect recipients by detecting anomalous recipients and flagging the email risk level.
Egress automatically prompts for you to encrypt an email if the content of the subject line, body of the email or attachment contain non-personal information (NPI). NPI includes:
- Client's name
- Address
- Full account number
- Complete Social Security Number
- Complete credit/debit card numbers
Encrypt emails when the email contains bank proprietary information or the attachment is a .pdf document with bank proprietary or client non-personal information.

Prevent
To protect against email data loss, Egress uses machine learning technologies to model user relations and detect anomalous recipients in real time to avoid a possible damaging data breach.
When composing a new email or replying to an email, the Prevent feature alerts you to potential issues.
If there is no risk, the icon stays green and no further notification is received. If Egress notices something unusual or risky, the icon turns red and asks you to verify (or override) the information.

Situations that may prompt the prevent tool to activate:
- Selecting Reply All to a large group
- Sensitive information is detected
- Misspelling an email address
- Emailing someone you have never corresponded with before
- Sending to a newly created domain
- Sending to an email address that you normally would not (for example: cccbg.com instead of ccbg.com)
