Processing Consumer Line of Credit (CLOC) Transactions

A Consumer Line of Credit (CLOC) is an unsecured, revolving, $5,000 line of credit that the Bank makes available to existing CCB clients. For overdraft protection, it can be linked to a Capital City Bank checking account. Draw/Advance - Cash

To process a CLOC (Consumer Line Of Credit) draw/advance for cash, first process a Draw/Advance - DDA Account transaction. Once completed, process a withdrawal transaction from the DDA (Demand Deposit Account) account.

 
 

Draw/Advance - DDA Accounts

To process CLOC (Consumer Line Of Credit) transfers to DDA (Demand Deposit Account) accounts, do the following:

  1. Verify the identity of the client and ownership on the transfer from the account by using one of the following:
  2. View the signature card and resolution to verify the ownership and if the individual making the request has the authority.
    1. In Xperience > SilverLake > Demand Deposits Menu > Demand Deposit Inquiry.
    2. Search for the client by TIN number, name or account. Click OK.
    3. Click Related Functions.
    4. Choose Document/Image Inquiry.
    5. Select the most recent signature card by date. Note: Access the loan account client is requesting the transfer/debit from.
  3. In Xperience > SilverLake > Retail Loan Menu > Loan Inquiry.
  4. Search by TIN, name, or account number.
  5. Verify the account title and review all contact information. Edit any information if required. Note:  CLOC and DDA account ownership must be the same for transfers. Do not process a transfer if the account names do not match.
  6. Click Related Functions > Credit Line.
  7. Choose the CLOC account.
  8. Click Select. Note: To verify that funds are available, scroll down on the Loan Credit Line Inquiry Information screen to view the Line Available under Account Details.  
  9. Click Account Inquiry tab to view the Messages on the account for the designated account(s) established by the client into which funds may be transferred.
  10. If no message, review the loan documents for the imaged Authorization for Transfers to Designated Accounts form.
  11. If you cannot locate any information regarding the designated accounts, do not process the transfer and refer the client to a Loan Officer. 
  12. Click Account Inquiry tab to view the Original Loan Date.  
    • CLOC dated before 4/3/2015 - Minimum withdrawal limit is $100. 
    • Do not cash CLOC checks on loans with a minimum draw/advance limit that do not meet the requirement.
    • CLOC dated after 4/2/2015 - No minimum.
  13. Click Related Functions > Transfers.
  14. Click Add.
  15. Enter Transfer Amount.
  16. Click the drop-down menu.
  17. Choose Y for In-Person or N for Phone Transfer.
  18. Click Next.
  19. Click the drop-down menu.
  20. Choose the account to credit/deposit funds. Note: If the transferor and transferee are different you will receive an error message.  
  21. Click Next
  22. In the Description field, enter the name of the client who is making the transfer in the top box. 
  23. Verify the spelling of the name as this information prints on each client's statement.
  24. If phone transfer, enter the phone number the client called from in the bottom description box.
  25. Click Finish. 
    • Note: If there are any error messages that appear, do not override the error until you review and understand the reason for the error.

 

 
 

Draw/Advance - Money Orders

Clients can request a Consumer Line If Credit (CLOC) draw/advance for issuance of a CCB money order by first processing a Draw/Advance - DDA.

Once the transfer to the Demand Deposit Account (DDA)  is complete, follow these steps:

  1. Have the client complete a checking/savings withdrawal ticket with the following information:
    • Date
    • Client name
    • Account number
    • Client signature
    • Amount of withdrawal
  2. Prepare the money order and offset the credit copy with the checking/savings withdrawal ticket and a GL credit ticket to the office check fee general ledger account XXX 460450 6315 000.  
  3. In Xperience > SilverLake > Go To Vertex > CCB Supervisor Menu > Print a check > M2 Money Order.
  4. Click Select.
  5. Enter the amount for the money order. 
  6. Enter the payee. Do not leave this field blank.
  7. Enter the remitter information by clicking Prompt and entering the client's information.
  8. Click OK
  9. Click Print.
 
 

Draw/Advance - No DDA

Clients can request a CLOC draw/advance even if they no longer have a Demand Deposit Account (DDA). CLOC draw/advance is provided with a money order when the client no longer has a DDA.

To issue a money order from a CLOC account when a client does not have a DDA, do the following:

  1. Complete a Loans in Process(LIP) ticket with the following information:
    • Date
    • Client name as shown and reflected on Loan
    • Client signature (must be on the loan)
    • Loan number
    • CLOC withdrawal no DDA acct
    • Offset Entry (Official Check #)
    • Entered By: Associate First Initial/Last Name and extension
  2. Prepare the money order and offset the credit copy with the LIP ticket and a GL credit ticket to the office check fee general ledger account XXX 460450 6315 000.
  3. In Xperience > SilverLake > Go To Vertex > CCB Supervisor Menu > Print a check > M2 Money Order.
  4. Click Select.
  5. Enter the amount for the money order. 
  6. Enter the payee. Do not leave this field blank.
  7. Enter the remitter information by clicking Prompt and entering the client's information.
  8. Click OK
  9. Click Print.
  10. To advise of the draw, submit a Synapsys Service Event  > Loan Maintenance > All Other Requests
  11. In the Summary field, indicate Client request to process draw from credit line.
  12. Enter the Account Number.
  13. In the Service Event generated by: field, enter your name.
  14. Be sure to attach a copy of the LIP ticket to the event.
