Overview
A Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) account is a loan that is a line of credit secured by the borrower's home. Clients have the option of accessing the HELOC funds with checks or by requesting a draw/advance against the line of credit.
Minimum Draw/Advance Limit

Loans Dated before 04/03/2015
- The minimum draw/advance requirement is $100.00. Any amount less than $100.00 cannot be processed.

Loans Dated after 04/02/2015
- There is no minimum draw/advance requirement.
Refer the client to a Personal Banker or Client Experience Manager for questions regarding their HELOC account.

Checks - Cash
A Capital City Bank (CCB) HELOC check issued by a client and payable to another individual may be cashed at the teller line following HELOC withdrawal procedures found in the Draw/Advance - Cash tab.
A HELOC check or HELOC Withdrawal ticket payable to the client may not be cashed. Follow procedures for Draw/Advance - Cash or Draw/Advance - Money Order.
To process a CCB HELOC check issued by a client and payable to another individual, have the teller line process the check.
Draw/Advance - Cash
Clients requesting a HELOC draw/advance for cash must first process a Draw/Advance - DDA Account transaction. Once this transaction is complete, process a withdrawal transaction from the client's Demand Deposit Account (DDA) account.
If the client does not have a CCB account, follow the Draw/Advance - Money Order transaction procedures. Cash will then be issued for the money order.
Draw/Advance - DDA Account
Clients requesting a HELOC draw/advance for funds transfer to a Demand Deposit Account (DDA) account must have the same account ownership for both accounts.
To process HELOC transfers to DDA accounts, do the following:
- Verify the identity of the client by using one of the following:
- View the signature card and resolution to verify the ownership and if the individual making the request has the authority to do so.
- In Xperience > SilverLake > Demand Deposits Menu > Demand Deposit Inquiry.
- Search for the client by Tax Identification Number (TIN), name, or account number.
- Click Related Functions.
- Choose Document/Image Inquiry.
- Select the most recent signature card by date. Note: Access the loan account client is requesting the transfer/debit from.
- In Xperience > SilverLake > Retail Loan Menu > Loan Inquiry.
- Search by TIN, name, or account number.
- Verify the account title and review all contact information. Edit any information if required.
- Note: HELOC and DDA account ownership must be the same for transfers. Do not process a transfer if account names do not match.
- Click Related Functions > Credit Line.
- Choose the HELOC account.
- Click Select.
- Note: To determine if funds are available, scroll down on the Loan Credit Line Inquiry Information screen to view the Line Available under Account Details.
- Click Account Inquiry tab to view the Original Loan Date.
- HELOC dated before 4/3/2015 - Minimum withdrawal limit is $100. Note: Do not cash HELOC checks on loans with a minimum draw/advance limit that do not meet the requirement.
- HELOC dated after 4/2/2015 - No minimum.
- Click Related Functions > Transfers.
- Click Add.
- Enter Transfer Amount.
- Click the drop-down menu.
- Choose Y for In-Person or N for Phone Transfer.
- Click Next.
- Click the drop-down menu.
- Choose the account to credit/deposit funds.
- Click Next.
- In the Description field, enter the name of the client who is making the transfer.
- Verify spelling of name as this information will print on each client's statement.
- If this is a phone transfer, enter the phone number the client called from in the bottom description box.
- Click Finish. Note: If any error messages appear, do not override the error until you review and understand the reason for the error.
Draw/Advance - Money Order
Clients can request a HELOC draw/advance for issuance of a CCB money order by using a pre-printed HELOC check or HELOC withdrawal ticket.
- Verify the identity of the client.
- Access the Loan Inquiry screen to verify that the client is the borrower and the HELOC account available balance is sufficient for the amount requested.
- In Xperience > SilverLake > Retail Loan Menu > Loan Inquiry.
- Search by TIN, name, or account number.
- Click Related Functions > Credit Line.
- Choose the HELOC account and click Select.
- To determine if funds are available, on the Loan Credit Line Inquiry Information screen, scroll down to view the Line Available under Account Details.
- Click the Account Inquiry tab.
- View the Original Loan Date.
- HELOC dated before 4/3/2015 - Minimum withdrawal limit is $100. Note: Do not cash HELOC checks on loans with a minimum draw/advance limit that do not meet the requirement.
- HELOC dated after 4/2/2015 - No minimum.
- Have the client complete a pre-printed HELOC check or HELOC withdrawal transaction ticket with the following information:
- Date
- Client name
- Account number
- Client signature
- Amount of withdrawal
- Prepare the money order and offset the credit copy with the HELOC pre-printed check or HELOC withdrawal ticket and a GL credit ticket to the office check fee general ledger account XXX 460450 6315 000. Note: If the money order is being issued for the purpose of obtaining cash, do not charge a fee.
- In Xperience > SilverLake > Go To Vertex > CCB Supervisor Menu > Print a check > M2 Money Order.
- Click Select.
- Enter the amount for the money order.
- Enter the payee. Do not leave blank.
- Enter the remitter information by clicking prompt and entering the client's information.
- Click OK.
- Click Print.
Draw/Advance - Pre-printed HELOC Check
Clients can access the equity by using a pre-printed HELOC check.
To process a HELOC withdrawal using a pre-printed HELOC check, do the following:
- Determine the identity of the client. Tip: Access the Loan Inquiry screen to verify the client is the borrower and the HELOC account available balance is sufficient for the amount requested.
- In Xperience > SilverLake > Retail Loan Menu > Loan Inquiry.
- Search by TIN, name, or account number.
- Click Related Functions > Credit Line.
- Choose the HELOC account.
- Click Select.

- Instruct the client to prepare the pre-printed HELOC check and proceed to a teller to process the check.
Draw/Advance - Withdrawal Ticket
Clients requesting a HELOC draw or advance without a pre-printed HELOC check or CCB account can use a withdrawal ticket. Withdrawal tickets must not be used to issue cash to the client.
Process a HELOC withdrawal ticket by doing the following:
- Verify the identity of the client.
- On the Loan Inquiry screen, verify that the client is the borrower and the HELOC account available balance is sufficient for the amount requested.
- In Xperience > SilverLake > Retail Loan Menu > Loan Inquiry.
- Search by TIN, name, or account number.
- Click Related Functions > Credit Line.
- Choose the HELOC account.
- Click Select.
- On the Loan Credit Line Inquiry Information screen under Account Details view the Line Available.
- Click Account Inquiry tab to view the Original Loan Date.
- HELOC dated before 4/3/2015 - Minimum withdrawal limit is $100. Note: Do not cash HELOC checks on loans with a minimum draw/advance limit that do not meet the requirement.
- HELOC dated after 4/2/2015 - No minimum.
- Have the client complete a HELOC withdrawal ticket from the teller with the following information:
- Date
- Client name
- Account number
- Client signature
- Amount of withdrawal
Tip: A teller can process the withdrawal ticket using the applicable transaction type.
