ITM Cash Withdrawals

Overview

One of the many types of transactions a client can complete at an ITM is a cash withdrawal from a Capital City Bank (CCB) account. Funds for a withdrawal at an ITM can only be drawn from Checking/Money Market Accounts (MMA) or Savings accounts.

Withdrawals can only be conducted by the owner of the account, in person, with a valid photo ID. For a list of valid photo ID's for transaction processing, see ID Verification for Transactions.

ITM Dispenser Limits

Just like there is a limit to how many items the ITM can accept in a single batch, there are limits on what it can send out.

Click on the accordions below for limit descriptions and examples of how to ensure the client gets the correct cash as they requested it.

Note: Once the ITM has dispensed its limit, it will automatically adjust the total to reflect what was physically dispensed. It is easy to unintentionally short change the client, or create a lot of extra work if you do not properly adjust the totals.

Coin

The ITM will only dispense 20 coins at a time. If a client is requesting more than that, you will need to complete multiple cash withdrawal transactions.

For example: A client wishes to withdraw $50.00 total. They ask that $10.00 be in quarters.

  1. Press F7 to open the Cash Withdrawal window.
  2. Enter $45.00 for the Cash Amount.
  3. From the Account Type drop-down menu, choose the corresponding source code.
  4. Select Done.
  5. Select Post.
  6. Obtain the client's signature or last four numbers of their social security.
    • Lobby ITM obtain client's signature.
    • Drive-thru ITM obtain last four numbers of social security.
    • You only need to have the client sign once or type in last four numbers of social security once.
  7. Click Next.
  8. In the Mix Currency window, use the middle Request column to adjust the currency mix.
    • TellerNow! defaults to 2 $20.00 bills and 1 $5.00 bill.

    • Change the quarters to 20
      • TellerNow! will automatically adjust the bills to dispensed the highest domination. You can adjust to different demonations as client chooses.
  9. Click Next until the receipt is printed.
  10. Press F7 again to initiate the next withdrawal.
  11. Enter $5.00 for the Cash Amount.
  12. Repeat steps 3 - 8.

The client should have 2 receipts at the end of the transaction: One for a $45.00 withdrawal and one for a $5.00 withdrawal.

Cash

The ITM can only dispense a total of 500 individual bills per transaction.

It is uncommon that a client would request a quantity that would meet this limit. If a client does make such a request, ideally the VB would send them to the nearest full service office to arrange a cash order with an associate. In the even that such a solution is not feasible, the transactions need to be broken up in a similar fashion to the coin limits.

For example: a client needs $40,000. $29,400 in 100's, $10,000 in 20's, $500 in 5's, $100 in 1's. That breaks down to:

  • 294 $100.00 bills
  • 500 $20.00 bills
  • 100 $5.00 bills
  • 100 $1.00 bills

The best way to dispense cash per the client's request is to break it in to 2 transactions.

  • Transaction 1: Complete a withdrawal for $30,000.
    • Dispense the $100's, $5's, and $1's for a total of $30,000.00 (494 bills)
  • Transaction 2: Complete a withdrawal for $10,000.00.
    • Dispense the $20's (500 bills).

Best Practices/Informing the Client

  • If the ITM is dispensing more then 50 bills, please inform the client there will be more then one dispense of cash.
  • Ask client to grab the dispense cash. If not grabbed within 15 seconds, the ITM will take back cash and place inside divert bin. This is a security feature that can not be changed.
    • If client did not grab cash, review the session for amounts located on top right, Dispensed Items
    • Ask client to verifity the cash they have received. The Presented amount will be the same amount the client verified.
    • The amount Rejected is the amount placed in divert bin. (Verified by the total the client Requested, minus the cash amount Presented.)
  • If client wants to count cash, please ask client to count after all cash has been dispensed.
