Internal Bank Use Deposit Accounts

CCB has a policy for opening, closing, reconcilement, and control of internal bank use deposit accounts. The policy must be followed when opening an internal use bank account. The complete Bank Accounts Policy is located here

To open and approve internal bank use accounts, do the following:

  1. Determine if there is a need for an internal bank use deposit account.
  2. Complete page 5 of the Bank Accounts Policy, Internal Bank Use Deposit Account – Request Form – Exhibit A.
  3. Obtain the signatures for all associates designated on this form.
  4.  Forward the completed form to the Financial Accounting Manager for approval and discussion of proper accounting procedures for the account.
    • Financial Accounting decides whether to open the account as a demand deposit account or as a new General Ledger (GL) account
  5. If the account is approved as a demand deposit account, obtain a copy of the original form from the account owner.
  6. Include the original form in the work to be imaged.
  7. The Financial Accounting & Reporting department maintains the original request form.
