Business CIP Requirements

Client Identification Program (CIP) policy requires us to obtain business information to verify the existence of the business entity. Do not open any accounts for prohibited entities. Business entities must provide an Employer Identification Number (EIN).

Officer, Owners, Authorized Signers Present

All signers or officers present at the account opening must have either an SSN or an ITIN. CIP policy requires us to obtain consumer information to verify the identity of the officers, owners and authorized signers present in the office during account opening.

Officer, Owners, Authorized Signers NOT Present

All signers or officers not present at the account opening must provide only the following:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Occupation

Note: If you cannot obtain the information for signers or officers not present at account opening, do not open the account. Exceptions must be approved by a BSA officer.
