Drawer Cash 

Teller drawer cash is arranged in the most efficient manner. Do the following to keep the teller drawers organized:

  • Keep currency in your drawer clean, counted (strapped), and orderly
  • No excess loose cash
  • Keep currency face up and facing one direction
  • Unfit currency can be identified and separated from fit currency until it is sold to the Lead Teller.

Strapped Currency & Strapped Currency Chart 

Strapped currency in a teller drawer must be strapped in accordance with the Currency Strap Amounts chart as referenced below.

Associates may buy or sell to another associate in Half Strap, Full Strap Bundle, or any other denomination breakdown. Adherence to these standards at all times is required. To ensure the accuracy of strapped currency, it is a best practice to count currency twice prior to strapping.

  • All strapped currency in a teller drawer must contain the first initial/full last name of the assigned associate.
  • Apply the teller stamp to the front side of the strap when selling to another drawer or when giving to a client within a transaction.
  • Refresh the teller stamp ink frequently.

Coin Denomination 

The following coin denominations are in circulation:

  • Pennies
  • Nickels
  • Dimes
  • Quarters
  • Half Dollars
  • Dollars

Capital City Bank (CCB) does not accept foreign coin.

Loose Coin

Piece count all loose coin prior to adding to the drawer. To arrange loose coins as part of your working cash, do the following:

  • Separate the coins by denominations.
  • Arrange the coins in an appropriate compartment of the cash drawer or a tray kept inside the second drawer or on the counter.
    • Note: If loose coin is maintained in a tray on the counter, it must be locked in the second drawer or coin locker every time the associate leaves the workstation.
  • Loose coin contained in a tray and not contained in the teller drawer must be locked in the coin locker overnight or when not in use. 
    • Note: Loose coin cannot be locked in the second drawer overnight.
  • Roll excess loose coin in the color-coded and preprinted wrappers.

Rolled Coin and Rolled Coin Chart

Coins must be rolled in accordance with the Coin Roll Amounts chart as referenced below. Associates may buy or sell coins to another associate in rolled or tray amounts.

Adherence to the following standards at all times is required:

  • All rolled coin must be stored in appropriately labeled trays in the workstation coin locker. 
  • Arrange the coin locker in the most efficient manner.
  • Rolled coin purchased from the vault in boxes with the original unbroken seal can remain in the coin locker. 
  • Once the original seal is broken, the coin must be removed from the box and placed in the appropriate coin trays in the coin locker.
