Staffing

Saturday staffing for an open office is completed at the discretion of management.

To properly handle client needs, management must insure that an associate working on Saturday has override authority; all associates have a clear understanding of office specific security requirements, cash requirements, and overall knowledge of all teller procedures.

Currency

Prior to close of business on Friday, the Lead Teller (LT) is responsible for ensuring each drawer being used on Saturday has sufficient currency to handle transactions.

  • No currency/coin can be secured in the vault or night depository with a Cash-Out Ticket to be used for Saturday banking.

Teller Drawer

Verifying and Preparing

  • An associate may use their current assigned drawer, keys, and combinations on Saturday.
  • An associate may not accept custody of a cash drawer not assigned to them without following Drawer Transfer procedures.
    • If the drawer is out of balance, a supervisor or other associate working on Saturday must recount the drawer and any outage written off at the time of the court.
  • If the Vault is open or the Working Cash Drawer is being used, sell excess cash to the Vault Drawer or Working Cash Drawer.
  • If the Vault is not open or the Working Cash Drawer is not being used, verify, piece count and re-strap excess currency and coin under dual control.
    • This currency and coin may be secured in a tamper-proof bag in the night depository if unable to secure in the teller drawer.
    • For identification purposes, mark the bag with the date and teller drawer number.

Drawer Storage

All Saturday Cash Drawers must be secured in a vault or night depository under dual control at the end of Saturday banking.

Saturday drawers are returned to their permanent locked receptacle (for example: Vault) on the next business day the office is open.

Keys and combinations currently assigned to an associate working on Saturday may be retained by the associate. Keys and combinations not currently assigned to an associate working on Saturday should be returned to their permanent locked receptacle on the next business day the office is open.

Drawer Limits

  • Cash limits do not apply to a home-office based associate working on Saturday, but require signed approval on the Saturday Trial Balance tape by the LT or Client Experience Manager (CXM/CXMII) on the following day the bank is opened for business.

  • Cash in excess of the assigned drawer limit must be sold on the following day the bank is opened for business.
