If you have identified one or more red flags, do the following:
- See Distinguishing between Clients and Fraudsters.
- Take these steps with clients that require a Red Flag form:
- If property was stolen or identity theft has been confirmed, file a police report.
- If the client's SSN has been compromised, notify at least one of the major credit bureaus (Experian, Trans Union, or Equifax).
- If the client does not have a CIF inquiry code, set one.
- If the client's debit card was compromised, cancel the debit card.
- If the account requires closing, place a message on the account noting any outstanding items.
- If the login credentials were compromised, send a Synapsys event to delete the BOL service.
- Gather any supporting documentation.
- Complete the ID Red Flag Discrepancy form, and include the supporting documentation.
- Email the completed ID Verification Red Flag Discrepancy Form to _Transactional Risk & Fraud Prevention.
- Once the form is received, Transactional Risk and Fraud Protection (TR&FP) places any necessary holds on accounts and alert messages on the client's CIF. They also log the form for reference.
