  • Place all currency in the teller drawer.
  • Secure the teller drawer in the vault.
  • Currency cannot be locked in the second drawer or the coin locker after business hours.
  • The loose and rolled coin must be locked in the coin locker.
  • Teller drawers used on Saturday must be locked in a dual control vault or the dual controlled night depository (Drop+Go).
  • The top and second drawer must remain unlocked.

Confidential Information - Shred Container

All paperwork containing confidential information must be placed in a designated container for shredding during the business day. At the end of each business day, all contents in the designated shred container must be placed in the office's locked shred bin. Never place confidential information in the regular trash. The designated container should never contain food, cans, bottles or other garbage.

The Lead Teller (LT) is responsible for ensuring the following procedures are adhered to at all times. The daily responsibilities may be assigned to another associate.

  • Ensure a designated shred container is in a central location in the lobby and drive-in teller area. It is very important that all associates realize the importance of "knowing what they toss" in the shred container.
  • Ensure all contents in the designated shred container is placed in the locked shred bin daily.
  • Best practice: Do not empty the shred container until all associates have balanced for the day.
