Capital City Bank (CCB) employs safeguards to protect clients personal information at all times. Egress is a software package added to Microsoft Outlook that helps ensure secure delivery and viewing of email. Egress also protects against email data loss and reduces the chance of incorrect recipients by detecting anomalous recipients and flagging the email risk level.
Be sure to inform clients in advance that encrypted emails may be received. Secure email can be opened and viewed on both a desktop or a mobile device.

Encrypt Message and Attachments
Clients are required to register with Egress the first time they access a secure email sent through the Encrypt message and attachments protection label.
After registering, secure emails sent through the Encrypt message and attachments protection label are easily accessed by clicking the Open secure email link contained in the email.
To assist clients with accessing the secure email, advise the client to do the following:
- In the email received, click Open secure email.
- The Egress Web Access page displays.
- Click Register To Continue.
- Complete all fields.
- The email address where the secure message was sent MUST be used as the Email (Egress ID).
- Click Create Account.
- Upon completion the Almost done screen displays.
- Advise the client to check their email inbox for an Egress activation code.
- Enter the activation code and click Submit.
- The All done screen displays.
- Click Read your message now.
- Click Reply on the Egress Web Access page to send a secure encrypted reply back to CCB.
- On receipt of subsequent encrypted emails, users sign in and have immediate access to the secure content.
Delete
Encrypt - One Click Access
To access a secure email sent through the Encrypt - One Click Access protection label, clients simply click Open secure email to be directed to the Egress Web Access page.
Clients can click Reply on the Egress Web Access page to send a secure encrypted reply back to CCB.
Encrypt with Password
To assist clients with accessing the secure email with a password, advise the client to do the following:
- In the email received, click Open secure email.
- The Egress Web Access page displays.
- In the Passcode: field, advise the client to enter the password provided by the banker who sent the secure email.
- Click Accept.
- The secure message displays.
- Click Reply on the Egress Web Access page to send a secure encrypted reply back to CCB.
Email with Large File attached
Egress allows files up to 50 mb to be securely attached to emails. Recipients are provided a link to access the file from Egress.
