Video Release Procedures

Release of Video Images or Tape Procedures rev. 7.11.2019

In order to ensure consistency and reduce possible liability for improper disclosures, the following policy provides guidance for viewing and releasing video images or tapes that are property of Capital City Bank (CCB).

  • Release of video images without a subpoena must be approved by the Chief Information Security Officer.
  • Video images can only be viewed and released to law enforcement officers or other authorized persons.
  • If an officer requests images or tape that involves a non-client, the officer must provide a subpoena. The subpoena must be processed through the Legal Desk, according to bank procedures.
  • Clients cannot be shown any video or images nor can they be given any detailed information pertaining to the recorded images.
    • If a client requests images or video, they must file a police report.
    • Law enforcement must provide a subpoena, before CCB can release the video or images to agency investigating the incident.
  • The Bank works with clients (individual and business) to settle disputes regarding evidence that may be recorded on DVR or VCR that directly involves the client initiating the dispute. For example: client says they did not originate a transaction, but images or tape clearly show the clients involvement.
  • If the Bank suffers a loss, it will take appropriate actions to recover the funds. The Bank will pursue all possible legal remedies.
