Application Services

The Application Services department works across the Bank and with every department by providing support for the core applications that run the Bank, including both office operations and internal operations. Application Services also supports and acts as a liaison for third-party applications, which integrate with the Bank’s core software for all retail banking functions.

One prominent client for Application Services is Retail. Application Services offers software and product support for Retail for programs such as Synapsys, Synergy, and Xperience. Another notable client includes Corporate Security and Risk, who informs Application Services of access permissions for new hires so Application Services can set this up in the appropriate systems. Additionally, Application Services performs several necessary procedures, including Automated Clearing House (ACH), International Automated Clearing House (IAT), and End-of-Day (EOD) processes on our servers to ensure the smooth operation of the Bank.

Application Services also provides custom software development for our STAR Bucks and Corporate Security applications, as well as providing custom Robotic Process Automation (RPA) applications. The custom-coded automation routines using RPA that Application Services develops include Foxtrot, Jack Henry Enterprise Workflow, and custom .NET applications.

Indeed, Application Services has in-house development resources capable of assisting with reporting or Line of Business (LoB) solutions for your business unit. So, if you have a cumbersome Excel- or Access-based process for reporting, there may be an opportunity to work with Application Services to develop a more streamlined, accurate solution.

Here is an example of how Application Services employs RPA to help our associates: imagine one department receives a weekly report that requires them to manually enter data into a program. As the Bank grows, so does the information contained within that weekly report until the associate responsible for manually entering that information becomes inundated with an ever-growing workflow. Application Services can build a custom software code to automate portions of that associate’s process, including an exception report so anything that program identifies as not following the code’s logic can be flagged and directed to an associate for review. As a result of this newly automated process, the associate saves hours of time in their workday.

Product Analysis

Product analysts are responsible for the support of our internal software systems, as well as support for our third-party software vendors.

Product analysts are a first line of support for our offices’ software systems, and they are responsible for escalating appropriately with third-party vendors, logging and tracking help tickets with third-party vendors, and tracking and testing any custom code required by the Bank. Analysts also oversee user administration and setup for some third-party applications

Software Development

Software developers spearhead multiple development efforts, including the System Security app, STAR Bucks app, Foxtrot process automation, SilverLake “Green Screen” custom routines, and Access databases.
