Overview
Clients can cash checks drawn on Capital City Bank (CCB) made payable to consumer clients/non-clients using a Virtual Banker at an Interactive Teller Machine (ITM). In addition, not on-us checks made payable to consumer clients can be cashed.
CCB checks made payable to a business (for example: corporation, partnerships, limited liability company (LLC), association, organization) can not be cashed. The business has the option to deposit the check in to their account, and withdraw the funds once they are available. Sole Proprietor or Doing Business As (DBA) business accounts are the exception. Client's with this type of business account can cash checks made out to the account owner or the DBA.
For the complete teller procedures and guidelines regarding cashing checks, see Check Cashing Transactions.

CCB Business Checks for Non-clients

Fees:
A check cashing fee is required for all business account checks presented for cash by a non-client. Manually enter the fee to reflect the appropriate amount based on the following schedule:
- $3.00 for each check up to and including $1,000.00
- $6.00 for each check greater than $1,000.00

- Confirm the name on the ID matches the name on the check.
- Ensure that the check has been properly endorsed and the non-client's right thumbprint is on the front of the check.
- If it has not, click Reject. (Note: See the Rejecting a Check tab in the article ITM Check Deposits.)
- In the Check Amount field, enter the amount from the legal line on the check.
- From the Account Type drop-down menu, select the source code Cash Check Bus.
- Enter the CCB account number located in the MICR line.
- Click Accept.
- In the Cash Back box, enter the total amount minus the fee(s).
-
For example: A non-client cashing 3 checks, each for $200.00, is charged $9.00 total in fees. The amount entered in the Cash Back box would be $591.00.

Editing a MICR Line
For instructions on editing a MICR line, see ITM Check Deposits.
Reminder: If a MICR line is completely blank, use EXTRA precaution "fixing" it. This is a common sign that the check may be fraudulent. If you are unsure of the check, ask the Virtual Banking Manager or Coordinator for assistance.
