Eligibility
As of January 31, 2023 Capital City Bank NO LONGER offers this product type. Empower Checking has been added as a replacement. Opportunity Checking was a second chance deposit account offered to clients who receive a decline when running ChexSystems.
Requirements for Moving
To move an account from Opportunity Checking to another product (excluding Empower Checking) the following conditions must be met:
- Account must be open for at least 12 consecutive months with no charge-offs
- Account must have a positive balance on the day of the request
Client must have potential sales opportunities identified in Synapsys indicating CCBMobile Deposit Eligible Client
To determine if the client has potential sales opportunities identified in Synapsys, do the following:
- In Xperience > Products > Synapsys CRM > Desktop, enter the client's name or social security number.
- View the client's 10-second View > Potential Sales Opportunities field.
- If they are qualified, CCBMobile Deposit Eligible Client is displayed.
Moving Procedure
To move a client account from Opportunity Checking to another product (excluding Empower Checking), do the following:
- In Xperience click Customer & Account Inquiry.
- Enter the client name, CIF, or TIN and then click Search.
- Click New Event/Activity > Create New Event > Service Session.
- Click Deposit Services > DS-DDA/SAV product type change.
- From the Account Number drop-down menu, choose the account number.
- From the To Account Type drop-down menu, choose the product type.
- Click Save and Submit.
Note: If a client requests to change to the Empower Checking product, you must close out the current account and open a new Empower Checking account. You cannot request an account type change to move into Empower Checking.
Reopening Charged-off Accounts
Note: As of January 31, 2023 Capital City Bank NO LONGER offers this product type. Empower Checking has been added as a replacement.
If the client pays the charged-off amount in full, you can then proceed with opening a new account in the Empower Checking product type, even if they have been opened for 12 months or more. A ChexSystems inquiry is not required.
