Convenience Signers

Definition - Rev. 10.24.2025

A convenience signer is either an agent or an authorized signer, added to the account. For personal individual accounts, convenience signers can only perform the following on behalf of the primary account owner:

  • Make deposits
  • Withdraw funds from the account
  • Request a balance inquiry

Convenience signers cannot perform any other account related activities such as transfers, access bank online, cash checks or close the account. Convenience signers lose access to the account if the account owner dies.

Note: A convenience signer can ONLY be added to a single party account in Florida and Georgia. Alabama does not allow for convenience signers on accounts.

See Opening a New Individual Account > With Convenience Signer for additional details.
