CCB Dual Control Safe Deposit Box

The bank uses Safe Deposit Boxes to ensure the safety of storing safe deposit box keys and the contents of drilled boxes. Keys for safe deposit boxes available for rent and closed box keys are stored under dual control. The box used to store contents of drilled boxes must be a 10 x 10. Note:  A dual control vault locker is acceptable for the storage of drilled box contents if a 10 x 10 safe deposit box is not available.

Opening a New CCB Dual Control Box 

To open a new CCB dual control safe box, follow the New Box Rental procedures to open a new CCB dual control safe box.

When opening a new CCB dual control safe box, remember the following best practices:

  • When entering information into Xperience, remember that 2 signatures are required for the CCB dual control box.
  • Associate names do not appear on the contract.
  • Associates do not sign the contract.
  • In the signature section, write Bank Use.
  • Create a file folder for the CCB dual control safe box with the following:
    • Lease contract
    • Access card
      • Do not type the associate names on the access card

Accessing a CCB Dual Control Box

Two safe deposit box trained associates are required when accessing a CCB dual control safe box. To access a dual control safe box, do the following:

  1. Both associates must complete the Vault Entrance Log with the following information:
    1. Date
    2. Time
    3. Comments section 
      • CCB dual control box number
  2. Obtain the CCB dual control file from the safe deposit storage cabinet.
  3. Complete the Access Card with the following information:
    1. Date and Time of access
    2. Both authorized associates must sign on the Access Signatures line
      • Initials are not required on the signature line of the access card
