Safe Deposit Key Drop Box

Each office has a Safe Deposit Key Drop box that is used for placement of safe deposit box keys when boxes are closed, keys are returned or keys are found and you are unable to place those keys in the CCB dual control safe box.

Keys placed in the drop box are periodically reviewed by the Internal Control Specialist to determine if maintenance was performed. For example: closed box, found keys, inventory record. Keys are then moved into the office dual control safe box.

  • Removing keys from the drop box must be done under dual control
  • The key to the drop box is kept in the office dual control box
  • No one associate may be assigned this key

Associates place keys in the drop box under single control. The associate who puts the keys in the drop box must complete the following information on the Safe Deposit Box Key Drop Log:

  • Date
  • Time
  • Box number
  • Number of Keys
  • Associate Signature
  • Keys mailed into the office cannot be placed in the box until procedures for verifying and closing the box have been followed.
