Unauthorized Paper Draft

Note: Stop payments on unauthorized paper drafts expire after 6 months. The client must authorize the expiration by initialing the expiration statement on the Stop Payment form.

To stop payment on an unauthorized paper draft, do the following:

  1. Click SilverLake > SilverLake
    • The SilverLake menu displays.
  2. Click the Streamline Platform folder > Recall existing accounts from core.
  3. On the Inquiry/Website Selection screen click OK
    • The StreamLine Account Recall Selection screen displays.
  4. From the Application drop-down menu, choose the application type. 
  5. In the Account Number field, enter the account number. 
  6. In the Platform Type field, select or enter the platform type  *MO
  7. Click OK until the Optional Record Items pane appears. 
  8. Select Stop Pay/Holds
  9. Click OK 3 times.
  10. Enter values for the following fields:
    • Verify Check Has Not Been Paid
    • Date Placed
    • Request Received
    • Time Accepted
    • AM or PM
    • Remarks (Reason)
    • Payee or ACH Originator
    • Stop Type - Single or Future
  11. Click Next Records
  12. Enter values for the following fields:
    • Expiration Date - 6 months from the stop payment date (unless stolen or a lost blank check)
    • Date of Check or ACH Debit
    • Amount of Check or ACH Debit
    • Check Number - Low
    • Check Number - High
  13.  Click OK 2 times. 
  14. The Optional Recordspane displays. 
    • Note: the optional record item Stop Pay/Holds now has an asterisk next to it, indicating that one or more items has a stop payment action current. 
  15. If you want to create the stop payment record, then click Yes > OK.
  16. Ensure the stop payment shows on the client’s account under Stops/Holds.
    • If the stop payment is not showing on the account, it did not upload.
    • Recall the account in account maintenance and upload the stop payment.
  17. Complete the Unauthorized Paper Draft Affidavit form.
  18. Obtain the client's s signature on the completed affidavit.
