Change an Account Type

Clients can request to change their product types. 

If a client requests to change to the Empower Checking product, you must close out the current account and open a new Empower Checking account. You cannot request an account type change to move into Empower Checking. 

To change an account type at the client's request, do the following:

  1. Obtain valid identification to verify that the client is an owner or authorized signer on the funding account by using one of the following. 
  2. In Xperience > Customer and Account Inquiry.
  3. Enter the  CIF #, client's name and last 4 of the SSN, or loan account number and click Search
  4. Click Related Functions > CRM.
  5. Click New Event/Activity > Create New Event > Service Session.
  6. Click the (+) button next to Deposit Services. 
  7. Choose DS - DDA/SVA product type change.
    1. Add a short summary stating the client has requested to change their account type. Note: Make sure to include the new account type as well as the account they are changing in the summary.
    2. In the Account Number field, use the drop-down menu to select the account.
    3. In the account type field, use the drop-down menu to select the new account type.
  8. Click Save
  9. Click Save and Submit.
  10. Review the account details with the client.
  11. Provide the client with the Products and Services booklet, Disclosure Insert, the Other Services and Fees brochure, and provide the Truth in Savings Disclosure by doing the following:
    1. In Xperience > SilverLake > StreamLine Platform Menu > Print Account Disclosures
    2. In the Branch field, enter your Branch Number.
    3. In the Application field, use the drop-down arrow to choose D - Deposit.
    4. Click OK.
    5. Choose the account type that the client is changing to.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Print or e-mail the documents.
