Clients can request to combine bank account statements for accounts they own.
Details
Bank statements can be combined within each group listed below, and the following conditions for each group must be met first.
Note: All checking accounts combined with the primary account must have the same Statement Cycle Code (SCC). The cycle codes are on tab 3of the Account Inquiry screen.
Consumer Accounts – Individual and Joint
- Combine consumer to consumer accounts only.
- Client requesting must be an owner on primary and combined accounts.
Consumer – Attorney-in-Fact (POA Accounts)
- Handled as an exception only.
- Combine consumer POA to consumer POA only.
- Ownership, SSN, and title must be the same.
- Accept only after review by Call Me Direct and completion of the proper POA Affidavit.
Fiduciary Accounts – all
- Combine only accounts with the same ownership, fiduciary type, and authorized signers.
- Revocable grantor trusts can be combined with a consumer account that have the same owner(s).
- The requesting person must be the authorized signer or grantor/owner on the primary and combined accounts.
Business Accounts – all
- Combine business to business only (includes sole proprietorships).
- Name and EIN must be the same on primary and combined accounts.
- The requesting person must be an authorized signer/owner on the primary and combined accounts.
DDA Checking Accounts / Savings Accounts
A DDA checking account must be the primary account if DDA checking, savings, savings club, certificates of deposit or loans are combined on the client’s statement. The accounts are combined in the following order:
- Primary Account = DDA checking (first account on the statement)
- Savings
- Savings Club
- Certificate of Deposit
- Loan
A savings account must be the primary account if the client does not have a DDA checking and wants to combine savings with other savings, savings club, certificates of deposit, or loans. The accounts are combined in the following order:
- Primary Account = Savings (first account on the statement)
- Savings Club
- Certificate of Deposit
- Loan
Procedures
If the client is combining multiple DDA checking or multiple savings accounts, ask the client to choose the primary account -- the primary account appears first on the combined statement.
Savings and Savings Club accounts have a Service Charge Cycle Code and an Interest Cycle Code listed on the screen along with the Statement Cycle Code. These two codes do not change when their accounts are combined.
To combine statements for clients receiving paper statements or electronic statements, do the following:
- Obtain valid primary identification from the client, using one of the following:
- View the signature card and resolution to verify the account ownership.
- Determine if the accounts can be combined,
- Verify the client’s mailing address and physical address on the system.
- If necessary, complete a Change of Address form.
- If necessary, update the client’s CIF record.
- For power of attorney accounts, contact Call Me Direct to review and approve.
- To request combined statements, create this Synapsys service event: Service Session > Deposit Services > DS – Combined Statement.
- In the Primary Account Number field, enter the primary account number.
- In the Primary Account Cycle Code field, enter the appropriate code from Tab 3 (Statements) of the Account Inquiry Screen.
- Expand the Accounts to be combined list and check the account number(s) to combine.
- Save and submit the event.
