CCB mails tax form 1099 to clients earning interest on deposit accounts or upon cashing US savings bonds. Clients occasionally request a correction to the tax form if they detect an error, or if they need a duplicate copy because the original is never received, lost, illegible, or mailed to an incorrect address.
If the client requests a corrected tax form, do the following:
- Talk with the client to determine why he/she feels the correction is necessary.
- To access the client’s tax information, in Xperience, click SilverLake > Tax Reporting Inquiry.
- Enter the client's Tax ID then click OK.
- Choose the appropriate tax form (if a list appears) by selecting the form and then clicking Display. Note: If there is only one tax form, it automatically displays on the screen. If there is no tax form, a message appears towards the top that reads, No Tax Information Found.
- Review the interest listed for each account with the client to determine which account is in question.
- Inquire on the account to determine how interest was posted.
- Submit a service event requesting a correction, if necessary, by doing the following:
- In Xperience click Customer & Account Inquiry.
- Search using client's name, CIF, or TIN.
- Click Related Functions > CRM.
- Click New Event/Activity > New Event > Service Session.
- Click Deposit Services > DS Tax Interest Notice Correction.
- Click OK.
- Complete appropriate fields.
- Click Save > Save & Submit.
