Requesting Duplicate Tax Form 1099 (Interest)

Clients request duplicate 1099 tax interest forms if the original was never received, was lost, is illegible, or was sent to an incorrect address. To generate a duplicate tax form, see either tab.

Never Received, Lost, Illegible

  1. Do one of the following according to the status of the original tax form:
    • Never received -- Verify the client’s CIF address. Update if needed and create the same Synapsys service event mentioned below. Note: Include on the service event that the address has been changed on the client's CIF. 
    • Lost or illegible-- Request a duplicate form by creating this Synapsys event:  
      1. In Xperience click Customer & Account Inquiry.
      2. Enter client name, CIF or TIN and then click Search.
      3. Click Related Functions > CRM.
      4. Click New Event/Activity > Create New Event > Service Session > Deposit Services > DS Tax Interest Notice Correction.
      5. Complete appropriate fields.
      6. Click Save > Save & Submit.
  2. Deposit Service updates the tax form and prints it by the following Wednesday. 
  3. Deposit Services mails the forms to the client. Tax forms are mailed to the address listed on the client's CIF. 


Incorrect Address

  1. Look up the client’s CIF address (tax forms are mailed to this address). 
  2. In Streamline, update the CIF address.
  3. Remove the undeliverable mail message by creating this Synapsys event:
    1. In Xperience click Customer & Account Inquiry.
    2. Enter client name, CIF, or TIN, and click Search.
    3. Click Related Functions > CRM.
    4. Click New Event/Activity > Create New Event > Service Session > Deposit Services > DS Address Maintenance.
    5. Complete the appropriate fields.
    6. Click Save > Save & Submit. 
  4. To request the duplicate tax form, create this Synapsys event: 
    1. In Xperience click Customer & Account Inquiry.
    2. Enter the client name, CIF, or TIN and then click Search.
    3. Click Related Functions > CRM. 
    4. Click New Event/Activity > Create New Event > Service Session > Deposit Services > Tax Interest Notice Correction
    5. Include on the service event that the address has been changed on the client's CIF.
    6. Complete the appropriate fields.
    7. Click Save > Save & Submit.
  5. Deposit Service updates the tax form and prints it by the following Wednesday.
  6. Deposit Services mails the forms to the client.
