When the client changes his/her name, Bill Pay needs to be updated to use the new name. This situation can happen due to at least two common scenarios:
- Married client still being billed by maiden name
- Client has changed legal name and is being billed by former name
To update the client's name in Bill Pay, do the following:
- Verify client identity by using one of the following:
- Direct client to an office location to verify new license/ID and to update signature card.
- To change the client name on outgoing checks, do the following:
- In iPay, click Login.
- Click Subscriber > Edit.
- In the Name field, replace incorrect information.
- Tell the client that he/she can contact the CSC to help confirm the name change.
