Changing Client Names in Bill Pay

When the client changes his/her name, Bill Pay needs to be updated to use the new name. This situation can happen due to at least two common scenarios:

  • Married client still being billed by maiden name
  • Client has changed legal name and is being billed by former name

To update the client's name in Bill Pay, do the following:

  1. Verify client identity by using one of the following:
  2. Direct client to an office location to verify new license/ID and to update signature card.  
  3. To change the client name on outgoing checks, do the following:
    1. In iPay, click Login.
    2. Click Subscriber > Edit.
    3. In the Name field, replace incorrect information.
  4. Tell the client that he/she can contact the CSC to help confirm the name change.
